Brittany Hyman is an experienced communications strategist with expertise in community engagement and research-based policy design. She is the Director of the Third Ward Real Estate Council, a nonprofit development company striving to create equitable opportunities in real estate through education, access to capital and responsible development.

Prior to this role, Brittany served as Marketing and Communications Deputy Assistant Director for Houston Public Library. Her government career notably also included service at the Houston Housing and Community Development Department where she managed the marketing and communications rollout for the $1 Billion Disaster Recovery program.

Over the course of her career, Brittany has used her experience to champion equity in groups like the Houston Public Media Young Leaders Council and Houston’s 2036 Equity Taskforce. She is a Houston Business Journal 40 Under 40 Honoree, alum of Hampton University, and a planner graduated from the Barbara Jordan Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University.
